Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sector Patrol platform and services provided by Sector Patrol (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in the Republic of South Africa. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Sector Patrol platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are using the platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the platform.
2. Service Description
Sector Patrol provides a cloud-based patrol management platform that includes GPS-verified patrol tracking, incident reporting, checkpoint management, real-time dashboards, and related tools for security companies, community patrol forums (CPFs), and neighbourhood watches.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the platform at any time with reasonable notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify active subscribers of material changes.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
Organisation administrators are responsible for managing user access within their organisation, including revoking access for users who are no longer authorised.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its underlying systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform.
- Use the platform to transmit malicious code, spam, or harmful content.
- Falsify patrol data, checkpoint scans, or location information.
- Share your account credentials with unauthorised individuals.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
5. Payment Terms
Paid subscription plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, as selected at the time of purchase. All fees are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
- Payments are processed through our third-party payment provider.
- Failed payments may result in suspension of access to paid features.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days written notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price changes take effect on their next billing cycle.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 14 days of a charge to request a review.
Free-tier accounts (including CPF accounts) are provided at no cost and may be subject to feature or usage limitations as described on our pricing page.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
You retain ownership of all data you submit to the platform. By using our services, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the platform and its features.
Upon termination of your account, we will make your data available for export for a period of 30 days, after which it will be deleted or anonymised in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
The Sector Patrol platform, including its software, design, branding, documentation, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Sector Patrol (Pty) Ltd and is protected by South African and international intellectual property laws.
Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:
- The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
- Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the platform shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- Sector Patrol is a management tool and does not replace professional security services, emergency response systems, or law enforcement.
9. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account settings in the platform. Upon termination:
- Your access to the platform will be revoked.
- Your data will be available for export for 30 days.
- No refunds will be issued for partially used billing periods, unless otherwise agreed.
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Gauteng Division of the High Court of South Africa.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active users via email or through an in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the platform after changes are effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
